13 Questions to Ask Any Seminar Provider Before Signing Up.

Provided by Nahabit & Associates, Inc.

1. Who will be teaching this seminar?

Each seminar presented by Nahabit has a unique instructor, not just a "presenter." Each is a specialist in his or her individual field, ranging from Fundamentals of Purchasing, Basic Electronics, Contracts, to How to Read a Mechanical Drawing, International Purchasing, and Negotiations, etc. Unlike our competition, we tell you about our instructors.

2. What are the instructor's qualifications?

Again, each Nahabit instructor is a leader in his or her particular field, ranging from a practicing Attorney, to (semi) retired purchasing professionals from Hewlett-Packard, IBM, 3M, United Technologies and Dell Computer. All have been certified as either C.P.M., CPIM, CPPB, or J.D.

3. How many times has this instructor taught this seminar?

Nahabit & Associates, Inc. instructors have the experience! Some of our instructors have been teaching for over 21 years, presenting their seminar literally many hundreds of times. Of course, this varies from seminar to seminar.

4. Describe the handout materials. Does it contain useful text beyond a bunch of bullet points?

Every attending student to a Nahabit seminar receives a unique training manual specifically tailored to the subject. These manuals are not textbooks, nor a bunch of bullet points stapled together, but rather a practical workbook/manual and reference guide written by the instructor.

5. Is there a glossary of relevant terms included in the handout material?

Nahabit glossaries are the most complete and easy to understand glossaries of applicable terms in the purchasing seminar business. Each is written in a clear, non-technical manner.

6. How many terms are defined in the glossary?

Our manuals vary in the number of terms defined. However, our basic purchasing and supply management glossary contains approximately 500 terms, each defined clearly in plain English. Some seminar providers are willing to sell you a glossary, but will not provide it as part of the seminar. Our glossaries are always provided in our manuals.

7. Does the handout material also include an Appendix of important and relevant information?

Each Nahabit seminar manual contains a comprehensive Appendix, which contains related and useful information of interest to the serious Purchasing Professional.

8. Is the handout a "MANUAL" useful beyond the seminar or simply an outline of
bullet points, i.e., just Xerox copies of a PowerPoint presentation?

Nahabit & Associates, Inc. manuals are truly manuals designed to be a useful desk reference for years, well beyond the seminar. Although each manual is unique, each manual has three things in common. They all have a section for the seminar text, a glossary and an appendix, all applicable to the seminar subject. Many of our clients have told us "The manual alone is worth the price of the seminar."

9. Who wrote the seminar handout or manual?

Each Nahabit instructor has either written or co-authored the manual to strict Nahabit & Associates standards. Most other seminar instructors for other providers have no part in the preparation of their seminar materials and handouts. They just "present."

10. Do you sell other items such as books, tapes or other services at this seminar?

We sell nothing except good education in the form of the seminars. Not even our manuals are available for sale.

11. Does the seminar fee (for public seminars) include morning pastries and coffee, LUNCH, afternoon refreshments, parking, and a certificate of completion (suitable for framing and display), etc.?

If they are being honest with you, most providers will reply NO to this question. Even the largest and best known providers tell you "You're on your own for lunch." Some may say yes to the above, but they may be referring to a cheap deli sandwich. Make sure you ask about the certificate of completion. Is a certificate printed on stock and bond paper, complete with an embossed gold seal, red ribbons, i.e.? Is it something that you would be proud to display or show your boss or spouse? Or is it just a piece of paper that looks like a certificate which had been Xeroxed, and you have to fill in your own name? TIP: If any seminar costs more than $450 per day, and lunch is not included, IT IS OVER PRICED. There are better seminars available for your money.

12. How many seminars does this organization actually present (not just advertise) on this subject each year?

We are in the seminar business, and no other business. Thus, we present about 150 seminar days per year, nation wide. Our cancellation rate of public seminars over the years has been less than one percent (primarily due to 9-11).

13. What percentage of former students would "RECOMMEND" this seminar to others?

When our students are asked, "Would you freely recommend this seminar to others?", almost all say yes. Our RECOMMEND RATE is better than 99.91%, and improving every day!
